Podium Use Guide
Clicking the Audio Conference button
brings up the annotation Audio conference fly-out control bar.
The left side of the control bar has room/phone information and typical phone buttons.
The right side side has control buttons.
Do not disturb means that no one can call the podium phone number. Privacy means that the other party is muted.
Note: It is recommended that instructors use lapel microphones when conducting audio conferences. Lapel mikes are located in the closets of bigger classrooms or above the Podium PC in smaller classrooms.
Software in the podium is represented by the icons on the desktop below
Software installed on the Podium PC includes the following applications: Maple, GAMS, Lindo, R, JMP, Matlab, SPSS, Adobe Acrobat reader, Microsoft Office 2007, Pro Media Player 11, Quicktime Pro, and Centra.

TIS is not in the security business.

16.1 Be able to start-up from a systems-on and systems off-states.
Be able to shut down a session.

§ A podium PC with PowerPoint slides from a USB flash drive,
§ A laptop PC with PowerPoints slides
§ A document camera
16.3 Be able to use the following dual sources:
§ A podium PC and a DVD
§ A laptop PC and a document camera
16.4 Annotate the lectures.
16.5 Capture lectures using Accordant software
After spring semester, TIS will do a survey on the effectiveness of the new technology for spring semester
Haslam Business Building hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 9:30 PM Monday-Thursday, and 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM on Friday. Only the three main doors (Atrium and Volunteer entrances) will open at these times. Other doors will be unlocked at 7:45 AM and will lock at 5:45. Except for executive programs, the building is closed on the weekends.
- Leave windows XP on.
- Please don’t bring food or drink into the classrooms. Water is OK.
- Turn the Podium off if you are the last instructor
of the day
- Leave the Podium in the single-source PC mode if you
not the last instructor of the day.
- Never use your own presentation remote control or a remote control from another classroom.
If you are a Mac user, you will need a DVI connector to connect Macintosh laptops to the podium.
If you us a IPod or IPhone, you need a video to IPhone adapter. Our contact information:
