Podium Use Guide

5. Shut Down

Leaving the podium in a predictable state is the most important factor in instructors being able to start the podiums.  

Shut down depends on whether instructors are the last to use the podium on a particular day.  

5.1 End of Day Shut down: Last instructors of the day should put the podium in the system-off state.  

Press the Mode button  bringing up the following flyout control bar.

Press the Shut Down button  .

5.2 Early in the day shutdown:  Instructors using the podium early in the day should prepare the podium for other instructors.   Remove any DVDs or USB flash drives. 

Press the mode button  bringing up the following flyout control bar:

Press the Change to AV Mode button  .

5.3 Shut down guide:

End of day?

Action

Yes

Put in systems off teaching mode by pressing Mode > Shut Down

No

Press Mode > Change to AV Mode

 

Remove all USB flash drives or DVDs

 

Close all files and select the PC source

 

Make sure DVI-to-VGA cable is connected (if removed to connect to Mac)

 

Make sure Lapel Mike is replaced (if Lapel Mike is used for audio reinforcement)

 

Never shut down Windows XP

 

Never turn off the podium monitor
