Dr. James H. Foggin is an Associate Professor of Business Logistics at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Foggin teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Logistics Strategy and Logistics Quantitative Analysis. He is a member of MBA core faculty and helped develop and revise the College’s innovative MBA program.  He formerly was the Coordinator for the Logistics and Transportation Ph.D. Program. He has designed and taught customized logistics short programs to large corporations, and teaches regularly in the College’s Executive Education programs. 

His research focuses on customer value determination and customer satisfaction in logistics, business and competitive intelligence, and information systems applications in logistics.
Among the companies he has worked with in consulting or research projects are the Burger King Corporation, the South Carolina State Ports Authority, the Burlington Industries Transportation Division and Carpet Division, the YMCA of Knoxville, the Proctor & Gamble Company, the Internal Revenue Service, the Frito Lay Company, the Eastman Chemical Company, Federal Express, the Adolph Coors Company, USCO Logistics, and The Brunswick Boat Group.

He is a member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, and the American Society of Transportation and Logistics. He serves on the Editorial Board of the Transportation Journal, is an occasional reviewer for the Journal of Business Logistics, and has been a reviewer for the Annual Logistics Educators Conference since 1987. He has also served on numerous Ph.D. dissertation committees.
