  • Awarded "Ralph Bradley PhD Student Award, 1984" for outstanding achievement.
  • Earned "Best first year student in applied statistics, 1979" honor, also at Florida State University's Department of Statistics.
  • UTK Undergraduate Faculty Advising Award Finalist, 1994.
  • First International Research Conference on Lifetime Data Models at Harvard University, co-sponsored by the Statistics Department at Harvard University, July, 1994: Invited Program Committee Member.
  • Fourth International Reliability Research Conference: Invited Program Committee Member. June, 1991 held at the University of Missouri, Columbia.
