Masters in Business Analytics - Overview
“People who can do high level math are practically a commodity. People who can figure out which problem is the right one to solve and then apply high level math are both expensive and elusive. Those who can communicate effectively the answer in such a way managers can understand, priceless.”
Dave Clark, Vice President North American Fulfillment
Amazon.com and University of Tennessee MBA graduate.
Masters students in our program develop an understanding of business; they develop the skills needed to work effectively in a business environment, and they learn the analytic skills to solve business problems. In addition to the core analytic skills developed during the first year, our business analytics students choose one of two overlapping areas as a concentration:
- Applied Statistics (check out this article from the New York Times)
- Process Optimization
Graduates of our department programs have been placed in a wide array of businesses. Follow this link to meet a few of our graduates and learn how they apply business analytics in their companies. Click here for a list of companies who have hired our majors.
Potential applicants who have a mathematical and computing background and who want to pursue a valued degree with excellent career growth opportunities are encouraged to apply.
Attention Out-of-State Students! If a university in your state does not offer a graduate degree in Business Analytics, you may be eligible for in-state tuition at the University of Tennessee.
