SINGAPORE

Although the weekend in Johore Bahru was a great experience, everyone was very glad that we were moving on to Singapore to round out our trip. The border crossing was uneventful, and we arrived at our hotel in Singapore mid-morning. It was clear that our tour days were finished because it was back to school by 10:30 am with a guest lecturer, Steve Monaghan of Competitive Capital, who spoke about the investment and retail banking industries in Asia. After lunch, we had a briefing on opportunities that exist for U.S. companies in Singapore by representatives of the U.S. Commercial Service. Once we all got checked-in to the hotel late that afternoon, we enjoyed our first evening in Singapore eating great Asian food in a variety of wonderful restaurants that surround our hotel.

Glen Schuler presents our guest speaker, Steve Monaghan, with a plaque in appreciation for his presentation.
