HONG KONG

Tuesday started with a 7:30 am departure from the hotel and about a 30 minute drive to Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) on Hong Kong Island. The campus is on a breath-taking hillside overlooking Causeway Bay. After a short campus tour, we attended a fascinating lecture by Dr. Milind Rao, Professor of Economics at HKUST. Professor Rao spent about three hours talking about the interdependencies of Chinese and American currencies. After a traditional Chinese lunch on campus, we said good bye to our friends at the university and traveled to the largest container port in the word. We visited with executives from Dubai Ports International and Modern Terminals and learned about the intricacies of moving their share of the 7 million containers that are shipped through Hong Kong each year. It was amazing. Another free evening meant great Asian food! We're all old pros at chop sticks by now!
