After over thirty years as a suburban nomad, Lisa finally settled and put down roots in Knoxville, Tennessee. She became a University of Tennessee employee in 2003 and joined the Marketing and Logistics Department in April of 2005. She brought with her 10 years of teaching experience as well as two years of administrative experience. When she isn’t in the office, she enjoys reading, completing graphic design projects, copyediting, coaching art and writing, meeting with other artists and walking through the 4th and Gill neighborhood with her husband. Some of her greatest achievements include playing soccer in seven different countries, collaborating on a spoken word/jazz cd, successfully fishing for piranha without getting bitten, hiking a Guatemalan volcano and running two miles in 12:36. Before her ultimate demise, she hopes to hike the Appalachian trail, visit New Zealand, discipline herself to write regularly, take care of her aging parents as well as they took care of her, attend the triennial international C.S. Lewis conference and drink wine of her own making. In the meantime, she tries to remind herself that as Mahatma Gandhi said “there is more to life than increasing its speed.”
