I received my Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1992. I received my B.S. from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee in 1981.
Throughout my life, I have lived in South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, California, and Alabama. When I was a kid, I played a lot of baseball and golf, which eventually enabled me to play both sports at the collegiate level on scholarships. I thoroughly enjoy traveling, especially to warm climates like Hawaii and Florida.
