Michelle began her career with the University of Tennessee working in the Bursar’s Office in 1991 and has worked in different customer and student service related positions during that time. She has been with College of Business Administration since 2003, when the Human Resource Management program transferred from the College of Human Ecology and joined the Department of Management.
Michelle was promoted to Administrative Specialist in the Department of Management in October 2008. She provides support to the department head, Dr. Terry Leap, as well as all department faculty, and acts as office supervisor for staff and work study students. Additionally, Michelle is responsible for processing travel authorizations and reimbursements for the entire department.
Michelle has been married to her husband, Mark, for 20 years. Their son, Evan, is a senior in high school and plays varsity baseball. He has also played high school basketball. Their daughter, Elizabeth, is a sophomore and plays for the high school golf team. She also plays fast-pitch softball. The entire family loves sports and both Michelle and her husband have coached various teams in baseball, softball, basketball and cheerleading. In addition to high school sports, the family enjoys UT football and basketball games.

Earned the Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) certification in May 2011.
Successfully completed the University of Tennessee’s Supervisor Leadership Program, UT Leaders: Lighting the Way, in 2008.
College of Business Administration Outstanding Staff Award for Innovation and Creativity,
Winner 2007-2008.
College of Business Administration Superior Customer Responsiveness Award Finalist, 2006-2007.
Nominated for the Chancellor’s Extraordinary Customer Service award in 2005.
Successfully completed the University of Tennessee’s SOAR (Supervisors: The Organization, Achievements and Responsibilities) program in 1998.
Served as Employee Relations Committee Representative from 1998-2000.
