Timothy P. Munyon received his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from Florida State University in 2009. His current research interests include political skill and social influence, job and work design, employee performance, and social context effects in human resource management. Munyon’s research has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Research in Personnel and Human Resource Management, Organizational Dynamics, Business Horizons, and Human Resource Management Review. He is an incoming Associate Editor at the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, and currently serves on the editorial boards of Business Horizons, Human Resource Management Review, the Journal of Character and Leadership Integration, the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies, Journal of Occupational Health Psychology and the Journal of Organizational Behavior.
Munyon is a member of the Academy of Management, American Psychological Association, Society for Human Resource Management, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and Southern Management Association. He is also active in executive education, conducting trainings for public and private organizations on succession planning, knowledge management, compensation, communication, and conflict resolution. He previously served on the faculties of West Virginia University and the University of Central Florida. Before transitioning to academia, Munyon worked in airport planning and consulting. His wife, Summer, is a UT alumna (’99, Psychology). They have two daughters, Autumn (born 2009) and Colette (born 2012).
