Welcome to the Department of Management at the University of Tennessee. Our department is home to a wide range of subject areas within the field of management including strategy, organization theory, organization behavior, human resource development, and international management. We are also home to an Industrial & Organizational Psychology program that is one of only two in the nation located in a College of Business.

Our nationally recognized faculty are trained in a variety of disciplines, enabling us to offer a broad range of unique programs at the undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels. Throughout this website, we invite you to explore the research, teaching, and service activities of our faculty. We also encourage you to examine our various undergraduate majors and graduate programs, as well as our course offerings in support of these majors.

We take our mission of “developing leaders, transforming organizations” seriously; it is reflected in our ongoing efforts to create and disseminate the highest quality management knowledge in the classroom and in our research. We are also taking our mission around the world through several summer study-abroad programs led by our faculty members.

*The Society of Human Resource Management, SHRM, for professionals in Human Resources supports for HRD students and a Collegiate SHRM. Southeast Regional SHRM games help students prepare for taking the Professional Human Resource (PHR) certification. 90% of the students at UT that have played the games have passed the PHR.
