Panel: Demand/Supply Integration in a Changing Environment: how do we organize for effective global S&OP
Brett Hatch, Manager, S&OP Demand Management
Whirlpool Corporation
Dwight Thomas, Senior Manager, Forecasting Process Planning
Alcatel – Lucent
Abstract: S&OP should be an effective backbone process in any enterprise as customer demand forecasts are integrated with supply chain plans. However, the challenges of globalism (time zones, languages, holidays, and local cultures), the need to make changes quickly as new information emerges, and the complexities of corporate governance models can make S&OP success seemingly impossible at times. We will look at a number of these troublesome issues and provide suggestions for how they can be addressed.
D. Larry Williams, Director Sales Planning & Forecasting,
Cooper Tire & Rubber Company
Abstract: This discussion will focus primarily on the challenges recognized and being addressed related to implementing an S&OP process globally. Although Cooper is just beginning the process, specific issues have been identified that make its implementation for consolidating the demand, supply and sourcing plans for North America, Europe and Asia at an executive level all the more challenging.
