Biosketch
George C. Philippatos, Distinguished Chaired Professor of Banking and Finance, has been a member of the Finance Department at the University of Tennessee since 1980. He is the author, coauthor or editor of more than 25 books and manuals on financial management, investment strategy, working capital management, and international finance in English, Spanish and Greek. He is the author or coauthor of over 50 professional articles on capital budgeting, financing investments, options, futures, financial strategies and international capital markets published in leading peer-reviewed journals. He is editor of the Multinational Finance Journal and associate editor of the Applied Economic Letters, International Journal of Finance, Journal of International Finance, SPOUDAI: Quarterly Journal of Economics and Business and Business Library Review. He is a reviewer for many other financial journals and is recent Past-President of the Multinational Finance Society. Dr. Philippatos' current research interests are in the areas of risk management, international financial markets, as well as neural network applications in finance and other extensions of Complexity Theory.
