Deborah L. Murphy

Biographical Sketch
Dr. Murphy joined The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in August 1990. Since joining the University, Deborah has been the finalist or recipient of numerous awards for excellence in teaching and research. She teaches at all academic levels (undergraduate, masters, and doctoral), and regularly teaches in our professional graduate program. For several years she taught in our executive graduate program in Taiwan. Deborah has published numerous articles that have appeared in journals such as the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (forthcoming), Journal for Portfolio Management, Financial Analysts Journal, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Family Business Review, and Journal of Business Ethics. Her research is cited by Ibbotson and Associates.
Deborah received her Doctorate Degree in Finance from The University of Florida, Gainesville, and worked in the banking, legal and utility industries for more than ten years prior to entering academia.
