Student Spotlight: Liz Bassett
College of Business Administration senior Elizabeth (Liz) Bassett stands out as a leader representing the college both on campus and in the Knoxville community. A native of Hixson, Tennessee, Bassett is pursuing a dual concentration in enterprise management and international business—as well as an additional concentration outside of the college in pre-dentistry. Bassett represents the campus as a member of the Chancellor’s Honors program, and she serves the college as a member of the Global Leadership Scholars program. She is a peer mentor in the Venture Business Learning Community, which brings freshmen pre-business majors together to build relationships and become more familiar with the business administration curriculum prior to entering the college as juniors. Additionally, she is a peer mentor for the Business Administration 100 class, where she assists in the students’ instruction and works with the Venture students.
Outside of the college, Bassett is a supplemental instruction leader for the UT Knoxville campus’ Chemistry 120 classes through the Student Success Center. She is a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Health Honors Society as well as Beta Gamma Sigma International Honors Society, Phi-Eta Sigma, and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Along with her work on campus, Bassett is active in the community. She serves as the treasurer of Clinic Vols, a student volunteer organization that works closely with the Red Cross to staff local elementary school clinics.
Upon graduation, Bassett plans to attend dental school and utilize both her dental and business education by opening her own dental practice. Please join the College of Business Administration’s faculty and staff in honoring Liz Bassett for her continued success and spirit of service!
