Business and Basketball
On February 26, members of the College of Business Administration Dean’s Circle gathered at the Chris Lofton Recruiting Lounge in Pratt Pavilion before the UT men’s basketball game. Hosted by the college’s alumni annual giving chair, Michael T. Strickland, Dean’s Circle members were joined by special guests including Chancellor Jimmy Cheek, legendary women’s basketball Coach Pat Summitt, Lady Vols Associate Head Coach Holly Warlick, Lady Vols Athletic Director Joan Cronan, Tennessee Basketball legend Dane Bradshaw, and Tennessee football standout Jeff Hall.

UT Students Win in National Accounting Case Competition
A team of four University of Tennessee, Knoxville, students won $5,000 for demonstrating excellence in sustainability accounting. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) awarded the students second place in a national case competition focused on enhancing environmental sustainability practices at a luxury hotel. The winning team’s members were Camille Crumpton, junior in accounting and international business; Daniel Aycock, junior in accounting and international business; Johannah Reed, junior in environmental studies; and Richard Lusk, junior in logistics and international business. Three of the four students are in university honors programs.

Featured in UT Accomplished Alumni Program
University of Tennessee alumnus Philip C. Jacobs, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Service Corporation International, received an Accomplished Alumnus award from the university while on campus March 9. The award program is coordinated by the UT Office of Alumni Affairs.
Jacobs holds a B.S. in finance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and an MBA from Vanderbilt University. He has more than 23 years of experience in retailing and marketing communications, including serving as CMO and other management roles at several of the nation’s top advertising agencies, as well as client-side positions.

College of Business Administration Graduate Programs Again Nationally Ranked
Graduate programs in the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, College of Business Administration were nationally ranked by U.S. News & World Report and Poets and Quants.
The executive-level MBA programs ranked in the Top 50 among executive MBA programs across North America, according to Poets & Quants for Executives. The programs ranked 45th among all public andprivate universities in North America and 20th among all public universities.

Global Supply Chain Forum Holds Inaugural Meeting
This June in Paris, two internationally ranked universities will bring together world-class industry and faculty leaders to discuss global supply chain issues, opportunities and best practices. The inaugural meeting of the Global Supply Chain Forum, scheduled for June 28-29, is a collaboration between the University of Tennessee and ESSEC Business School (Paris and Singapore). UT's internationally ranked faculty members include some of the most-published academics on supply chain. ESSEC is a leading European business school and a world leader in executive education with expertise in logistics and supply chain.
