Ruby Tuesday Renews Support of UT Corporate Governance Center
Ruby Tuesday, Inc. has generously renewed its support of the UT Corporate Governance Center by committing $25,000. The gift supports guest speakers hosted by the center, formally known as the Corporate Governance Speaker Series Sponsored by Ruby Tuesday, Inc.The UT Corporate Governance Center focuses on the three areas of corporate governance that most often impact public policy: the audit, compensation, and nominating/governance committees.
This fall’s speakers for the center include:
- U.S. Securities and Exchange Commissioner Luis Aguilar (September 23)
- U.S. Securities and Exchange Commissioner Troy Paredes (October 7)
- John Olson, Senior Partner, Gibson Dunn and Crutcher (November 4)
Sandy Beall, Ruby Tuesday, Inc.’s founder, chairman of the board, and CEO, expressed his reasoning for supporting the center: "Ruby Tuesday, Inc. sponsors these events because we believe that strong governance of corporations is important, not just to those of us who work at large corporate organizations, but also to millions of Americans who are corporate stakeholders through their contributions to 401(K) plans, pension funds, and other investments that are an integral part of their financial security."

Carcello, director of research for the Corporate Governance Center, recently spoke on behalf of the center’s faculty, "We are excited by the outstanding list of speakers presenting for the Corporate Governance Center during 2011-12.
