Message From the Dean
Dear Alumni and Friends,
This fall marks an incredibly exciting time of growth and change for the College of Business Administration. I speak on behalf of the entire faculty and staff of the college in saying thank you for your continued support that has allowed great changes this year. Our undergraduate program recently has been ranked by the 2009 U.S. News & World Report in the top-25 for public institutions and the top-50 nationwide. This is a clear indicator of the great things that have been going on over the last year and our continued commitment to academic success. The incoming class of freshmen at UT boasts the highest-ever average GPA of 3.76, and we look forward to welcoming many of these bright student leaders into our growing program.
This fall, we are welcoming over 5,000 undergraduate students---an increase of over 700 from last year. Some of our fastest-growing majors include accounting, logistics, and one of our newest programs, enterprise management. Majors such as enterprise management and programs such as entrepreneurship and innovation show how the face of business is changing, and our college is meeting that change head-on. Additionally, our graduate programs have shown exceptional growth, especially in the Executive MBA and Professional MBA programs.
The most visible change the college will experience this year comes with the opening of our phenomenal, new, six-story business building. This state-of-the-art complex will house the latest in technology and innovative academic programs. It will allow us to recruit and retain outstanding students and faculty, and provide a facility that reflects the high level of excellence that we strive for. We have relied on your gifts of time, talent, and treasure to make our program grow, and we hope that you will continue to support this great college.
