Robert B. Shelton is a Research Professor of Economics and Senior Fellow for Energy Policy at the Howard H. Baker, Jr. Center for Public Policy.

Robert Shelton is an economist by training. He has held previous teaching, research, and administrative positions at Arizona State University, the University of Wyoming, Resources for the Future, the National Research Council/National Academy of Sciences, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In addition, he has led a number of international energy and environmental assistance projects in Bangladesh, Georgia, Guatemala, Haiti, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Romania, the Russian Federation, and Ukraine.

He is a native of Texas. He is married, and he and his wife, Jocelyn, have three sons.
