William P. Middlemas-2000 Distinguished Alumnus
Bill Middlemas retired from Bank of America, where he was risk management executive of consumer and commercial banking and oversaw its $300 billion loan portfolio. Middlemas launched his career in the banking industry after earning a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee. Starting out as a management trainee for C&S Bank of Georgia, Middlemas joined NCNB (a Bank of America predecessor) in 1979 and progressed through a series of departmental, district, statewide, regional, and national positions. Throughout his remarkable career, Middlemas shared his leadership skills as an advisor to many civic, educational, cultural, and healthcare institutions.
