UT Partners with Stryker Germany to Offer Lean Operating Room Course
KNOXVILLE, TN — A two-day course designed to help doctors and operating room teams work more efficiently and more cost effectively is being offered for the first time in the U.S. at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
The Center for Executive Education in the College of Business Administration is partnering with Stryker Germany, a medical technology company, to offer the lean academy developed by Stryker on December 15 and 16.
"Implementing lean in the operating room creates challenges from multiple sources. Stryker and UT have combined their expertise to address these challenges," said Rhonda Barton, director of UT's Operations Excellence Programs. This two-day course will provide intensive instruction on "how to make the operating room more efficient, increase quality, reduce provider, and patient waiting and reduce variability."
Cost is $750 per person. Attendance is limited to 25.
