College Hosts Seventh Annual Scholarship Reception
KNOXVILLE, TN — The College of Business Administration recently held its seventh annual Scholarship Reception. Over 250 guests, including scholarship recipients and many of their donors, attended. For the 2009-2010 academic year, the college awarded $848,712 to over 300 undergraduate and graduate students.
In addition to hearing from college leadership, two loyal alumni spoke to the group —Will Pugh, a 1961 graduate of the college and loyal donor of the Pugh & Company Scholarship since 1998, and John Compton, 1982 graduate who was instrumental in PepsiCo Foundation establishing its scholarship in diversity in 2008. Jeremy Park, a junior studying accounting from Lenoir City, TN, and a Pugh Scholarship recipient, spoke about how meaningful his scholarship is. He also encouraged students to give back as alumni so others can benefit.
