UT ACCOUNTING PROGRAMS RANKED

AMONG NATION'S BEST

 

Public Accounting Report 2005 Ranking

KNOXVILLE , TN –The University of Tennessee College of Business Administration's accounting programs again have made the Public Accounting Report 's (PAR) esteemed annual rankings, reflecting the program's increased national prominence and impact.

The college's Master of Accountancy program moved up four spots to #16 on the PAR top graduate program rankings list while the undergraduate accounting program ranked #17 on the top undergraduate programs list. When ranked against public schools, the undergraduate and graduate accounting programs ranked #14 and #13 respectively. There are approximately 170 schools in the U.S. with accredited accounting programs.

“We are honored to be named again to PAR's prestigious list and to have our programs in the top 20 in the nation,” noted Dan Murphy, department head for the college's Department of Accounting and Information Management . “The accounting department recognizes the importance of teaching as a driver of success. Our commitment at all levels of study is confirmed by the PAR rankings, which serve as a testament to our meeting the needs of all of our students.”

For the survey's newly created doctoral category, UT's accounting program received an honorable mention. When ranked only against public schools, UT's doctoral accounting program ranked in the top 20.

The University of Tennessee accounting programs are not alone in garnering impressive rankings for the college. Also ranked by Business Week, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Modern Physician, Journal of Business Logistics , and U.S. News & World Report are the College of Business Administration's full-time MBA program, Executive MBA programs, Physician Executive MBA program, undergraduate program, and supply chain management/logistics programs.
