KNOXVILLE , TN – The University of Tennessee supply chain management/logistics program ranked #2 in the nation according to Supply Chain Management Review, the industry’s most respected executive-oriented publication. This ranking follows the 2006 U.S. News & World Report rankings in which UT’s undergraduate and MBA supply chain management/logistics programs both were highly ranked for their leading supply chain curriculum. “These rankings are an excellent reflection of the quality of our students, faculty, curriculum, research agenda, and real-world expertise,” said Sarah Gardial, associate dean of academic programs. “We are proud and honored to be ranked so highly within this esteemed group of peer institutions — although next year we hope to be number one!” Both academics and practitioners within the supply chain management/logistics field were surveyed for this Supply Chain Management Review ranking. Supporting UT’s #2 ranking overall, the program ranked #4 nationally among academics, while it ranked #2 among practitioners. Confirmed Dennis Criscuolo of Smith & Nephew: “The University of Tennessee is the gold standard for supply chain management education.” “With academics valuing research and practitioners valuing curriculum and reputation, we are honored to have excelled on both parameters,” said Ted Stank, head of the Department of Marketing and Logistics. “This speaks to the full continuum of supply chain management/logistics tools that we provide our students and partnering organizations in our undergraduate program, full-time MBA program, executive MBA programs, executive development programs, and collaborative industry forums.” The University of Tennessee supply chain management/logistics program is not alone in garnering impressive rankings for the college. Also ranked by Business Week, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Modern Physician, CPA Personnel Report, Journal of Business Logistics, and U.S. News & World Report are the College of Business Administration’s full-time MBA program, Executive MBA programs, Physician Executive MBA program, and Master of Accountancy program.
