Accounting Major

 

The University of Tennessee has one of the leading accounting programs in the nation. The program emphasizes the conceptual and applied understanding of business information and prepares students for careers in accounting and business.

Students in the Accounting major must take the following courses:

Accounting 301* Financial Reporting
Information Management 341 Business Process Analysis
Accounting 311 Financial Reporting and Analysis
Accounting 321 Cost Management
Accounting 411 Financial Compliance and Operational Auditing
Accounting 414 or 431 Advanced Financial Reporting (414) / Federal Income Taxation (431)

*Accounting 301 is a required elective
