Student Profile

 

The Master of Accountancy program in Fall of 2011 has 81 students – 50 in assurance, 31 in tax.

The academic background shows roughly 75% from the University of Tennessee, and 25% from other undergraduate accounting programs.

Other undergraduate schools represented are Tennessee Tech , University of Tennessee Chattanooga, Carson Newman, University of Maryland, University of the Cumberlands, Furman University, University of Vilnuis, Tennessee Wesleyan, College of Charleston, Milligan College, Austin Peay State University, Baylor University, University of Kentucky, Wake Forest University, Middle Tennessee State University, Appalachian State.

But admitting only high-quality students is not enough. Students are challenged to develop critical thinking, an awareness of the broad issues facing the accounting profession, and the ability to communicate.

The result is a superior student who is not only prepared to face current issues in the profession, but who is also capable of recognizing new challenges and developing strategies to meet them.
