James Chyz joined UT’s Department of Accounting and Information Management after receiving his Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Arizona. James holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Yale University, and a MAC from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2004. Prior to obtaining his Ph.D., James worked as a Tax Senior with Grant Thornton, LLP in Albuquerque, NM. His research interests include the effect of taxes and accounting information on asset prices, financing, and investing and financial reporting decisions. James teaches financial accounting and taxation to undergraduate students.
