MAcc Students Travel to Shanghai
The Department of Accounting and Information Management continually seeks to broaden our students’ awareness and appreciation for their world. For the third year in a row, a trip to China was organized by the department to facilitate this development. This summer, a group of UT Master of Accountancy students traveled to Shanghai from May 14th – 21st. Faculty members and students travelled around Shanghai, visiting cultural landmarks as well as different businesses. The structured visits included meeting with partners at Ernst and Young in their Shanghai office and a meeting with members of the American Chamber of Commerce. In addition, the students visited a Volkswagen factory and a silk studio where pictures were sewn by hand. The students also enjoyed a day of touring around Shanghai, a trip to Yu Yuan Garden, and attended a Chinese acrobatic show, which is a cultural “must see” when visiting Shanghai.
