Herbert and Linda Rhea Excellence in Teaching Award – this award is given annual to one or more faculty members who have demonstrated excellence in classroom teaching, pedagogical innovation, and furthering the educational mission of the students.

Pugh Award – This award is given annually to a faculty member who has contributed to the overall success of the department. This individual’s contributions can be in teaching, research, and service or any combination thereof. Generally, it is awarded to someone who has contributed on more than one of these dimensions.

Dr. Richard Townsend

Dixon Hughes – This award is given to a faculty member who has demonstrated excellence in their research activities. This person has published in leading journals and presented their work in a variety of national forums and has furthered both their and the department’s research reputation.

Dr. Joe Carcello

Customer Service Award – This award is given to a member of the non-teaching staff who has demonstrated a sincere, continuing, and effective level of service to faculty, students, and other department constituencies.
