The Department of Accounting and Information Management is pleased to have you enrolled in our program. We believe the undergraduate program is central to our mission and support it in many ways. Although our courses are designed to provide you with technical accounting and information management skills, they also include assignments to help you develop skills in other areas including oral and written communication, computer, and interpersonal skills. We hope you will take advantage of all the opportunities provided by our faculty and the University to reach your maximum potential while you are enrolled as a student in our program.
The Department provides support to undergraduate students in many ways. Many students use the internship programs and the scholarship program to help enrich and fund their undergraduate studies. Beta Alpha Psi provides students with an opportunity to develop their leadership skills while learning about the accounting profession. (See the sidebar for more information about these programs.) Our faculty members are available to help students with career and advising questions, and our administrative staff exists to help with any administrative issues that may arise. Please use these resources to enhance your undergraduate education while you are here.
Our goal is for you to have a challenging and rewarding academic experience that will serve as a basis for life-long learning. We challenge you to excel in your studies and develop your skills to their highest levels. If you are successful as an undergraduate, you will have the basis for a lifetime of learning and growth. Thank you for selecting our program, and best wishes for a rewarding undergraduate education.
