Spring 2004 University Commencement Ceremony

All Undergraduate candidates who complete their degree requirements during the Spring and Summer semester are invited to attend the University of Tennessee Spring Commencement Ceremony. Graduate candidates are also invited to attend if degree requirements are completed at the end of the Spring semester.

To participate in the University Commencement Ceremony, students must R.S.V.P. to confirm their attendance. This will allow us to make seating arrangements. A reservation must be made no later than March 12, 2004. Please do not confuse this ceremony with college ceremonies, which require a separate RSVP (see below).

It is NOT necessary for family and friends planning to attend the ceremonies to make a reservation.

If you are a graduating student who plans to participate in the University Commencement Ceremony, click the appropriate link below, complete and submit the form to confirm your plans to attend. The deadline to RSVP is March 12, 2004. Undergraduate Students University Commencement RSVP Form

Spring 2004 College Ceremonies

Students may also participate in a College Ceremony. College Ceremonies are in addition to the University Commencement Ceremony. A reservation to participate in a College Ceremony is necessary as well. For information about where and when the college ceremonies are, and for RSVP contact information, go to College Ceremonies Information and RSVP Contacts.

Clear All Financial Obligations to the University of Tennessee

By date indicated on the VolXpress statement

All financial obligations with The University of Tennessee (i.e., graduation fee, library, student clinic, traffic fines, rent, phone bills) must be paid before a diploma or transcript is issued. The University is authorized to withhold a student’s diploma and transcript for any fees owed and reported by a department of the University at the time of graduation, regardless of whether those fees are delinquent.

It is very important that the University have a current address, since VolXpress statements are mailed approximately one month before graduation to all students who show a balance owed. Balances must be cleared by the deadline indicated on the VolXpress statement to ensure that the diploma will be available at graduation and that the official copies of the transcript can be obtained after the degree is received.

Although late payment of obligations should immediately show up on the student’s record, it is recommended that receipts be kept. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure that all financial obligations have been met and appropriately cleared with the Bursar’s Office.
