Jack E. Kiger, W. L. Slagle Professor of Accounting, earned an
undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of North Carolina
and worked for an international public accounting firm for four years. He
earned an MBA from the University of Alabama and a Ph.D. from the
University of Missouri. He served five years as a faculty member at the
University of Georgia. He is a Certified Public Accountant and primarily
teaches auditing and financial accounting. His primary research interests
are in auditing and financial accounting. Professor Kiger has published
articles in the Journal of Accounting Research, Accounting Review, and The Internal Auditor, The Journal of Corporate Accounting and Finance, and Issues in Accounting Education. He served as national president of Beta Alpha Psi. He is coordinator of both the Spring and Summer Internship Program for accounting students and advisor to undergraduate students in the Internal Audit Concentration and Master of Accountancy students in the Audit and Controls Concentration.
