Murphy Named 2008 TSCPA Educator of the Year

Daniel Murphy, Deloitte & Touche Professor of Accounting in the College of Business Administration, was awarded the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (TSCPA) 2008 Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education Award. The award is given to one individual annually in recognition of excellence in teaching and active involvement in the accounting profession. The award is open to any CPA in the state of Tennessee who is a member of the TSCPA. The committee also considers outreach activities where professional accountants further the profession and public service. Murphy also is head of the college’s Department of Accounting and Information Management.
